Indian classical dance has been an ongoing passion for Jyotsna Vaideeshwaran and she has immersed herself in the art for over 15 years. She has trained under eminent gurus including Natyacharya Aravindans at Kalakshetra, Chennai and Smt. Lata Pada at Toronto. Most recently, she has learnt from senior Kalakshetra gurus K. P. Kunhiramans. She is a recipient of the Bharath Kalachar dance scholarship for young artists. Since her arangetram (solo debut) in Chennai in 1992, Jyotsna has given numerous solo recitals and has also performed for many of Sampradaya Dance Creation's productions. Besides being a solo artist she is also a performing artist with NATyA, a young, innovative California-based dance company. Jyotsna is grateful to have had the opportunity to give solo recitals in Chennai during the Music and Dance festival season of December 2006. Jyotsna is a software engineer at Microsoft.
