The UW Bhangra Team was formed in September of 2005. It is composed of a group of dedicated students from the University of Washington who hope to spread awareness about the East Indian culture through the traditional folk dance of bhangra. They hope to captivate the audience by displaying their passion for bhangra in a riveting, fast paced performance! They are very excited to show their skills to any audience willing to appreciate this form of Indian culture and the hope to have everyone leave with the same love of bhangra that they have grown up with.
The UW Bhangra Team performs at a variety of events like local talent shows, festivals, wedding receptions, bhangra competitions AND mainly Bhangra Bash. Bhangra Bash is a professional bhangra competition organized by the UW Bhangra Team at the University of Washington - featuring bhangra teams from across North America.
