Vasu Sundarraj is a disciple of a living legend of Indian classical music, Pandit Jasraj and Shri Narayan Prasad. She has given devotional classical music concerts in many cities in the United States and Canada. She has performed at the Northwest Folklife Festival, and was the first Indian artist to present solo concerts at the Experience Music Project (EMP) and McCaw Hall. In 2004, Vasu was honored with the Asian American Living Pioneer award, presented by the Northwest Asian Weekly. She has recorded devotional compositions for the soundtrack of the full-length film "Mixing Karma" in 2005. Vasu currently trains over 70 students of all ages in her Bellevue music school, Swaranjali.
